Class Instruction

  • Drama/Theatre Arts Workshop
    Instructor:
    Lea Frymire
    • Designed for students interested in performing, no matter what the age or experience
    • Confidence, audition preparation, performance experience, and fun are all part of this course
    • Ages 9 - 18
  • Ballet and Modern Dance 
    Instructor: Theresa Kendall
    • Ages 3  - adult
    • Creative Movement, Pre-Ballet, Ballet I, Ballet II, Ballet III, Modern I, Modern II, Modern III 
    • Pointe (ages 12-adult) is offered free of charge for students enrolled in either Ballet II or Ballet III
    • Ballet Dance for Home-Schooled Students  (ages 5-12)
    • All dance classes are filled.  Names are no longer being accepted for a waiting list.
    • Our summer dance program is open to the general public on a first-come, first-served basis.  Contact the SOTA office in April (2009) if you would like information for our 2009 summer programs
  • Basic Art Classes
    Instructor: Jason Paulhamus
    • Elementary, Middle School, High School and Adult art classes are now being offered
    • Classes are designed to introduce the beginning artist to many art mediums and techniques
    • Additional art classes and workshops will be offered in the summer for students who have already taken the Basic Art Classes, or who want to advance into a more specific art field (i.e. drawing, painting, illustration, cartooning, and designing portfolios for college and career)
    • One-on-one instruction is also available for any age group, if requested
  • Ballroom Dance Classes  
    Instructors: John Stugrin and Mimi Troisi
    • For couples of all ages
    • Beginner and Advanced classes are offered
    • Basic steps of Nightclub Two Step, Waltz, Swing, Tango, Rumba,  Hustle & Cha Cha will be presented
    • Students who have taken one Beginner or Advanced Ballroom Dance class through the SOTA will have the option of continuing each semester at a reduced tuition rate
    • Only one registration fee per couple is required
